What is driver management software?

It's software that keeps the information about each driver in one place, such as documents, qualifications, availability and records of their work. Logmaster's version focuses on compliance: document expiries, fitness declarations and fatigue records. It doesn't handle payroll, rostering or job allocation.

Which driver documents can Logmaster send expiry alerts for?

Accepted Answer

Licences and driver documents including medicals, training and inductions, as well as vehicle registrations. Each alert gives the office warning so a renewal can be organised before the document lapses.

Why do shift-start fitness declarations matter more now?

Accepted Answer

Since 1 August 2026, the Unfit to Drive duty means drivers of heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes must not drive while unfit, and parties in the chain must not cause or encourage it. A declaration at the start of each shift is one practical way to prompt drivers and keep a record. It doesn't replace a manager's judgement when something seems wrong.

Can a driver who works for several companies keep one profile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Logmaster supports multi-company drivers, who keep one diary and can send their logbook to each company they drive for. Each business receives the records it needs.

Question 5

Does driver management software replace an HR system?

Accepted Answer

Not in Logmaster's case. It holds the compliance side of driver management, such as documents, fitness and hours, and API connectivity lets that data reach other systems. Employment records, pay and leave stay in your HR or payroll software.
