Vehicle Tracking That Backs Up Your Work Diaries

Vehicle tracking tells you where your fleet is. Logmaster tells you if your drivers' hours add up, and Connected Fleets puts the two side by side. Logmaster is an NHVR approved electronic work diary for Android and Apple devices. It connects to leading telematics platforms such as Geotab and Microlise.

Location Data Alone Won't Satisfy a Fatigue Audit

Drivers of fatigue-regulated heavy vehicles must keep a work diary when they work 100km or more from base under Standard Hours, or at any distance under BFM, AFM, ACA-Fatigue or exemption hours. GPS data doesn't count as that record. An auditor wants work and rest entries, and wants to see that someone in the business checked them. Tracking becomes far more useful once it's tested against the diary.

Logmaster: The Compliance Side of Vehicle Tracking

Logmaster gives drivers an NHVR approved EWD and gives the office a portal to review it. With Connected Fleets switched on, vehicle movement from your telematics platform is compared with each driver's logged work and rest. The result is a short list of entries worth a closer look: rest logged while the vehicle was moving, work logged while it sat still, a diary location that doesn't match the vehicle, or movement nobody recorded. Logmaster doesn't supply tracking hardware, so your telematics provider stays in place.

Where Tracking and the Work Diary Meet

clock

Hours Counted to the Minute

Logmaster records work and rest in one-minute steps, compared with 15-minute blocks on paper, and shows each driver how much time they have left.
Visibility

Position Mismatches Highlighted

If the location a driver records doesn't line up with where telematics puts the vehicle, the office is alerted and can check the entry while it's easy to fix.
Records

One Diary per Driver, Whatever They Drive

Drivers who swap vehicles keep a single work diary, and logging in assigns them to whichever vehicle they're driving in your telematics platform.
Mobile Coverage

Offline Recording on Remote Routes

Long stretches of the Australian road network have no signal. Logmaster carries on recording offline and syncs when the device is back in range.
Paperwork

Stationary Work Caught Early

When a driver logs work but the vehicle hasn't moved, Logmaster raises an alert. It may be genuine loading time or a rest break that wasn't logged, and the record keeper can confirm which.

Rule Sets for Solo, Two‑Up and Bus Drivers

Standard Hours tables for solo, two-up and bus drivers are built in, along with BFM and AFM, so every tracked vehicle in a mixed fleet is checked against the right rules.

Who Benefits From Joining the Two

Heavy Vehicle

Heavy Vehicle Drivers

Drivers get a simple diary with rest reminders and a pre-filled odometer. Because their records are checked during the week, small slips get fixed early instead of turning into breaches at audit.
Record Keepers

Fleet Managers and Record Keepers

Record keepers see a map of work and rest events and a clear list of alerts, so their checks focus on the entries that need attention rather than every page of every diary.
Transport Business Owners

Transport Business Owners

Owners can show regulators and customers that logged hours are checked against vehicle data, which supports the reasonable steps everyone in the chain is expected to take.

Approved by the NHVR and Used Across Australia

Logmaster is an NHVR approved EWD used by more than 10,000 drivers in the states and territories that run under the HVNL. Western Australia and the Northern Territory sit outside the HVNL, and Logmaster runs WA fatigue plans for operators in the west. It's ISO 27001 certified and trusted by fleets including Greyhound Australia and PFD Food Services.
