What Are NHVR Fatigue Rules?

NHVR fatigue rules are the work and rest limits and record keeping requirements in the Heavy Vehicle National Law, enforced by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator to stop drivers working while fatigued.

There are three ways to operate under them. Standard Hours apply unless the operator holds accreditation, ACA-Fatigue accreditation allows Alternative Compliance Hours, and existing BFM or AFM accreditations keep their own limits until they expire.

The rules apply in every state and territory that runs under the HVNL. Western Australia and the Northern Territory have their own.
