Does Logmaster track vehicles with GPS?

Not on its own. The app uses GPS only when a work or rest entry is made, to fill in the suburb, and it doesn't track drivers between entries. Operators who want vehicle tracking can connect Geotab or Microlise through Connected Fleets and see location next to the fatigue record.

Is an electronic work diary better than a camera system?

They do different jobs, so one isn't a substitute for the other. An EWD keeps the legal record of work and rest that drivers of fatigue-regulated vehicles need, while a camera watches for signs of drowsiness during a drive. Many operators decide on the diary first because the law requires a record either way.

Can telematics replace a work diary?

No. Telematics data on its own isn't a work diary. Drivers who need one must use the written National Driver Work Diary or an NHVR approved EWD, although telematics can support the record by showing when a vehicle was moving.
