What Are NHVR Standard Hours?

NHVR Standard Hours are the default work and rest limits for drivers of fatigue-regulated heavy vehicles. They apply unless the operator holds ACA-Fatigue accreditation or an existing BFM or AFM accreditation.

For a solo truck driver, that means no more than 12 hours' work in any 24 hours, with at least 7 continuous hours of stationary rest, and no more than 72 hours' work in any 7 days. Shorter windows have their own breaks too, starting with 15 continuous minutes' rest in every 5½ hours.

Drivers show they've stayed inside the limits with a work diary, or with local area records for work within 100km of base. Logmaster counts the hours as you go and warns you before a breach.
